My Wife and I were scheduled to have our fingerprints taken on July 7th and July 9th respectively. Today, we received a letter for my wife and the letter says "Appointment Canceled" "No need to appear at ASC".
The letter does not say if they are going to reschedule OR the reason for cancelling.
I am a July 2007 applicant and this is the first FP appts we have got.
Does anybody have this kind of experience before?
Do you think I should show up at the ASC on the previously scheduled date OR just wait for a new letter and date.
My case is in TSC.
Any comment is appreciated.

Write to the Indian Consulate and check for a solution with them. They will have definitely handled these types of cases before.

Has anybody tried booking an emergency apointment? I was checking that some time back when I wanted to go urgently and it says that it is for people wanting to visit US for urgent family matters and not for people who are currently in the US and visiting home country. Anybody has tried this (going from US to get visa stamped in India in an urgent situation?).

When there is a merger, there are no issues. I am presuming that when there are spin offs, there are no issues. Since you are working for atleast one of the original partners, you may show that it is a spin-off or a smaller firm out of the bigger firm or something like that. I am no attorney.
Talk to a good one. If you are being offered atleast the wage that is described on your apps and your position has not changed, then maybe there are no issues.

I have one question about dependent I-485.. I filed I-485 to Texas Service Center under EB-3 in 2007, Applied EB-2 140 to Nebraska Service Center under EB2, ported priority date. Now I have to add dependent 485 appication, which service center I have to send ?

I called up and spoke to the IO and asked him about the rejection of I-485 due to old fees and he defended that the application would be rejected without the new fee, I tried to explain him about the July bulletin 107 and that people who were on employment based category and whose dates were current should have used only the OLD FEES till August 17th, he did not agree about it and I did not force the issue!
If the IO officers don't agree about the right facts how would the people who just check the fee! I am sure that is why my application was rejected!
I am not sure what to do! Can somebody suggest anything!
How to let those people know that when we applied in August there was a bulletin which said that we can apply with old fee!
These are not "IO"s. These are called Customer Service Rep who are not hooked into the IO system. Their main purpose is to satisfy the mandate of servicing the Customer phone calls. There is no explicit mention of quality of service in the mandate. So go figure.

I filed another 485 which was family based and is current now.... I had to withdraw my employment based 485 because one cannot have 2 485s at the same time.
Thanks again to everyone for the suggestions.
Some people I know have got their GCs based on earlier 485s but with a new current approved 140s.
So maybe you should have just requested USCIS to apply your family based current status to already filed 485s. USCIS is capable of consolidating applications based on A numbers. They can even switch primary/dependent applications once something becomes current, contrary to what lawyers say.
You would have saved filing fees and medical fees.
But irrespective of that, go to infopass and find out if the files are assigned to an officer. Once that happens, it is a matter of days.

But the previous company that files your 485 should be a valid entity in business and an offer for employment should be valid, Since you need a letter from them stating the offer is open and terms of employment. One reason why employer might be avoiding filing a new LCA is if the new location has a higher wage requirement (eg. moving from mid-west to New York city) , the LCA should reflect that and they need to pay you accordingly.

I have my paystub till Jan 2009 and now I am out of status. A couple of employers are ready to transfer my H1B with project, but when they came to know that I have paystub till Jan 2009 then they stay back.
